Today is the first Mid-week Energy post after Snow became official!! This past weekend at my church I was reading through Proverbs 24 and these two verses stuck out to me.
Proverbs 24:15-16 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
15 Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous;
Do not destroy his resting place;
16 For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again,
But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.
In my Recovery bible there was a note that I thought was super encouraging. “Recovery is a process of being restored again and again. Though we may be tripped up by sin or fall down many times, those who belong to God will have strength and help to get up again and move forward. God is forgiving and patient with us in our failings and he is quick to help us back on our feet.”
Something that I have learned through my recovery is that it’s not so much about the falling down, its more about you getting back up. I like to think of it as when a child is learning how to walk. The parents don’t scold the child when they fall, but they praise them when they are able to take a step or two. As we are learning to walk this new life, things are going to happen but what counts is when we are able to take a step or two forward.
Today try to take a step forward. Make the choice to change something. Maybe its eating breakfast, maybe it’s waking up 20 minutes earlier so you’re not so stressed trying to get to work on time. Maybe its smiling more during the day. Maybe your trying to learn how to love yourself so today your step forward could be to tell yourself 5 things that you love about yourself.
Make today a different day. If you fell yesterday get up today. You have enough strength to keep going. I know it may not feel like it but you do. I know you can do it. If you are struggling to find your strength ask God for help. He always comes through. You can also look back to other times you had great strength. I have found that when I remember what I have accomplished and gone through, I realize I can do anything.
Long term big life changes come from making daily choices. Choose differently today and in a little while you will start to notice a change in your life.
Making the hard choices does pay off. It is worth it!! I believe in you! You can do it!!!
Have an amazing Wednesday!!
Till next time,
Keep calm and let it Snow!
